I’m Michael, I make carts and accessories at pacfab.co. I’m a working camera assistant in Vancouver and a member of the International Cinematographers Guild Local 669. When I’m not in the shop welding a cart, I’m on set pushing one.
Pacfab is a one man shop. I make the designs, TIG-weld the carts by hand, CNC mill parts, and answer the email when something comes up. There’s no factory, no warehouse, no dealer network. Pacfab carts and accessories are built one at a time, not stamped out. If you order a cart it doesn’t come off a shelf. I start building it.
The carts
Every pacfab cart is designed for the way busy ACs actually work.
Thoughtful designs like sticks holsters that can be used with one hand in tight space, hooks, drawers, integrated lighting so you can work comfortably day or night and German-made roller bearing wheels that make pushing through forest floors or studio floors a lot easier. I use marine-grade aluminum because the cart is going to last your career.
These carts aren’t the cheapest you can buy, but they’re the cart you want on set.
How ordering works
Most of what’s on the site is built to order. I don’t generally carry stock. When you place an order, I build it. Wait times vary depending on what’s in the queue. If you need something for a specific job, you should talk to me before prep.
Custom requests are part of how the shop runs. If you need a configuration the standard cart doesn’t cover, that’s a real conversation. Most pacfab carts in the field have some degree of customization. Let’s chat!
