Most of what comes out of this shop started as a problem someone couldn’t find an off-the-shelf answer for.
The camera cart started that way. So did a set of Pelican case drawers built for a 1st AC who needed to move fast between setups. So did a bracket that needed to exist in a very specific way for a very specific reason. If you have a fabrication problem and you’ve already looked at what’s commercially available, this is worth a conversation.
The work is TIG welding and CNC machining, primarily in aluminum. Everything is built in-house at 780 East Cordova in East Vancouver. One person, one shop. No minimum order volume. No catalogue.
Camera and production gear
Custom builds for camera departments are the core of what I do. Modified cart configurations, AKS storage, follow focus brackets, cheese plates, Pelican case systems, and anything else a camera or production crew needs that doesn’t exist yet. I also take on work for grips, art department, and other on-set departments. If you’re on set and you have a fabrication problem, I’ve probably solved a version of it before.
General custom fabrication
The shop takes on custom metalwork outside of film production. Brackets, enclosures, frames, hardware, and small-run components. If you need something welded or machined and you know what it has to do, get in touch and we’ll go from there.
Design objects and furniture
Custom furniture, architectural hardware, and design objects built in aluminum or steel. If you have a concept that needs to exist in metal and you want it done properly, that’s something this shop does.
How it works
There’s no formal quoting system. Email hello@pacfab.co or use the contact form, describe what you’re after, and include a sketch or reference image if you have one. Most projects start with a short conversation about what the thing actually needs to do and whether fabrication is the right answer.
Turnaround depends on what’s in the shop. If you have a deadline, get in touch early.
